Doctors of internal medicine focus on adult medicine and have had special study and training that focuses on preventing and treating adult diseases. Three of the seven or more years these doctors spent in medical school and postgraduate training were dedicated to studying how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases affecting adults. Sometimes known as a “doctor’s doctor,” other physicians often reach out to Internists when they need help solving a puzzling diagnostic issue found with one of their patients.
Medical or general dermatology is the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, and nail conditions. The skin can also be affected by internal diseases and disorders. Skin is the body’s largest and fastest-growing organ and is susceptible to a large number of issues from harmless, irritating conditions to serious (and sometimes deadly) illnesses. Treatment and relief is readily available so skin conditions should not be discounted or ignored. Dr. Sleep’s many years of training and experience were focused on the examination, diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders and diseases.
Aesthetic Medicine is the medical treatment of cosmetic problems. Aesthetic Medicine can be much more effective and last longer than over-the-counter or even prescription creams, lotions and other topical products. While very effective, Aesthetic Medicine is not as invasive as cosmetic surgeries such as facelifts.
